Media on the pope: old dog, new tricks, no can do.

Let's call this Exhibit A of the sad, sad media's inability to complete a paragraph on the pope without using the cliche scare terms "purge," "crackdown." And who can forget "watchdog"?

Even in an item about music.

I'm sure there will be protests from some Vaticanistas to the reintroduction of beautiful music to St. Peter's Church. In reference to his Liza Minelli CD collection, one Marty Haugen-loving cleric was heard to exclaim, "You'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands."

This is why Benedict XVI is right.

I think this is a super secret conspiracy to remove all Stubie grads from the music ministry of the church. Amen!

My being an FUS alum might undermine your theory. Just saying.

I like any article that contains the phrase, "philistine bishops." By the way, FUS has a new music program, directed by a Yale graduate, and it seems top-notch.

That's hilarious! I almost fell back in my chair.

Oh, please Mr. Pope...order a book burning of the CBW!

And while we're at it, let's throw in the "Glory and Praise" hymnals too...
