Join the, uh, crusade to free Piglet

There is a movement afoot (or should that be ahoof) to liberate Piglet and all other benign expressions of porkdom that are currently offending thin-skinned Muslims everywhere.

Go here for the requisite background on this growing movement. In the meantime, you might familiarize yourself with the word dhimmitude. It refers to the obligations and restrictions placed on non-Muslims (dhimmis) living in Islamic states. A few examples:

* Not allowed to build new non-Muslim houses of worship, or expand existing locations.
* Not allowed to display non-Muslim symbols on the outside of their existing houses of worship.
* Not allowed to pray non-Muslim prayers, perform non-Muslim rituals, wear symbols of their faith visibly on their clothing, or preach non-Muslim faiths in public.
* Not allowed to publish or sell non-Muslim religious literature.
* Not allowed to ask Muslims to join them in worship.
* Non-Muslim males cannot marry Muslim females (but Muslim males may freely marry non-Muslim females).

Golly, this is exactly like the way Muslims are forced to live over here. Hat tip to Kathy Shaidle.

And they want the practice of crossing Ts to end immediately as this reminds them of the Franciscan Tau cross, which in turn reminds them of the Crusades.

In short, they want the whole world deep in dhimmi doo doo.

Hello to Patrick from Lost Budgie

Just stopping by as we've had a quite a few hits from your link... so... Thanks a bunch!

Your list of required behaviour for Dhimmies is excellent. Perhaps someone should do a little research and a post to illustrate how Dhimmitude is implemented today in the Middle East.

Cheers,

Lost Budgie

Hey Lost Budgie. You've got a great blog. Thanks for the kind words, and you're right.

A newbie question: HOW CAN I INCREASE MY READER TRAFFIC?

Patrick - about your "newbie" question - join St. Blog's Parish, and any other blogring that catches your interest. Every time you update, go to www.blogrolling.com and use the ping form to let blogrolling know that you've updated. It will put you at the top of people's link lists for a bit of time and people are more likely to click on links that have new content. Don't go crazy with the blogrings - one or two are good - but they definitely help direct traffic. In a pinch, you can join something like BlogExplosion, but you have to surf member blogs to get traffic. Not something we all have time for - I guess it's a bit of a tit for tat situation! Anyway, there's recommendations for traffic. Oh, and try to update fairly frequently - not necessarily every day (we all have lives!!) but a few times a week. That gets you regular readership, which in turn can get you more new readers because your regular readers are likely to link to you now and again.

There. Blog traffic demystified :)

This is happening in England of all places! What next, the St. Georges Cross is offensive to Muslims?

Oops, it is already.

That remark about dogs got to me. No, seriously. :)

You won't find any prohibition against dogs in the Qur'an. You will find a few scattered among the Hadith, but it may surprise people here to know that many Muslims take the Hadith with a very large grain of salt.

Here is an Islamic site that gives a more humane picture of the dog and Islam:

Dogs or pigs, whatever. The point is that which elicits thin-skinned Muslim paranoia.
