Terri Schiavo, but with a better ending

Are you ready for a truth-is-stranger-than-fiction story ? It begins this way: beautiful girl overdoses on heroin while pregnant, stays in coma and gives birth to a healthy baby without waking up....

Lauren Richardson wept emotionally when her mother informed her of the settlement and the reconciliation of her parents.

This gave me goosebumps.

Gonna play Devil's advocate here. Do you think it's possible she wept because she knew she was going to be kept alive.

Dear Prince of Darkness:

I agree, that's probably the chief reason for her tears. I wasn't trying to imply it was because mom and dad aren't divorcing after all.

Although, I'd say chances are good to excellent that she would have shed a tear when hearing that her parents are staying together (presuming she really wanted them to do that). We can't know, of course. It's very possible that she cried for both reasons, or, her "I'm not going to be starved to death, like mom earlier wanted" tears were supercharged by the news that her parents have reconciled.

Now go to hell.

heh.
